News of Aloria

       With the wave of Shadow that heralded the strange incursion of monsters across Anuire came the return of Skahild. But she didn't come alone - Michael Destante came along too, claiming that the Crown was his by right of being eldest. Griff, unwilling to turn it over to his Azrai-tainted sibling, refused and the Brother's War began. For nearly a dozen years the conflict ravaged the land, and it took the return of the Gorgon to stop it. Michael survived by dint of retreating to the safety of the Imperial Capital, leaving his brother to fight to the last. His principle rival disposed, Michael became king of a kingdom in ruins.
        Would that was the end of it, but Michael proved not only a lazy, self serving leige, but finished his transformation into a bird like creature people have taken to calling Old King Crow. Slowly the Empire fractured, and his vassals slipped away. The country was rife with brigands and monsters, with Rjurik viking down the west coast, and Slavers from Aduria sweeping along the south...
        And THEN the Naida invaded.
        Beyond the Straits of Aeriele, the Naezed Empire had been gathering. A century of war with neighboring Aletaene had made the witchling descendants of Aduria's ugly legacy hungry and expansionistic. Within three years they'd bottled up Old King Crow and conquered half the land
before anyone quite knew what had happened. Now only a handful of kingdoms hold out in the North & East, fighting the Naida on one side, and a petulant mix of men and monster on the other. It is an age of anarchy, all the old hero kings dead, missing, or otherwise too old to fight...
        In the Eastern Marches in one of the last redoubts of fading Alorian glory, aging Mhedlore Hansien, High Priestess of Avanalae, gathers the fosterlings around her  fireplace and tells them the stories of their sires, and tells them it is time some new sagas were made...
