A d20 Campaign
The 9th Hour: Seige Mentality
Our heroes are enjoying respite
in House as it shuffles along. As they go
they divide up the loot from the last Hour, and find the House has been
using the Ghostrock to make changes in itself. They
also find themselves slowly being driven mad by the house, so Platinum
Blonde takes a number of the Heroes elsewhere to better recuperate.
Using the Hat rack guidance system, Henk causes the House to arrive
briefly in the Valley of the Dead Gods, but quickly sets it back in
motion. Hobb finds the map and struggles
with his own curiosity over the Valley of the Dead Gods and the Tomb of
his Grandfather. Research in the library
gives rumors of Horonomus Hobb, his study of the Dark Powers, his Staff
& Books, and the Town of Bloodmarch (where he was born), near the
Manticore Mountains. Jillian remembers
stories of the Destante family and rambles on about Eric Destante (aka
Darksong), his vile conquests, and his “seeding creation” with a dozen
clones of himself.
Slipping
in near the edge of the House grounds during its brief stay in the
Valley of the Dead Gods Genevieve, Eric & his minions stage a raid
& ambush – Eric sends in his troops to take the house and uses his
men as cover to slip in unseen. High
points of the battle include grenades & the wand of Ice Storm
taking out large numbers of Orcs, Roxxan causing Jillian & Jaccob’s
hands to rip themselves free to try & kill their owners, Genivive’s
duel with Terry (who might have survived had not Hobb thrown a
grenade), and Hobb & Sambo in close quarters. The fight going
against them (with most of the villains sufficiently damaged…)
Genevieve uses the Nemesis Wand to open a gate back to the Valley of Dead Gods & they flee,
practically killing Jacob in the process. As
the gate closes, the mists part, and the heroes realize the House has
slid back to the Valley
of Dead Gods,
& that the Hatrack is wrecked. Platinum
Blonde returns to scratch her head & wonder what she missed.
