Kingdom of the Blind
The Created are an X-factor in the local supernatural scene. Few truly
understand them, less trust them, but they have made their mark.
Colectively the Created refer to their comunity as the Kingdom of the
Blind, more out of the depressed acknowledgement of their status as an
invisible, unwanted people than in recognition to any actual political
governance. Still, there is a hope (and fear) that a King will one day
come and unite them, such was prophecised by the oracle Cassandra,
who's only real hint before vanishing was "In the land of the Blind the
one-eyed man is King".
The Perilous Circle
One of the oldest Throngs lurking in the Bay Area, the Circle was
formed by the Blind Wizard Szu (sometimes called the "Blind Wizard
King"), an Ulgan who apeared durring the Earthquake of 1857. In a
hidden lair bellow China Town, he gave guidance and succor to others of
his kind for almost 50 years, until his disapearence in the quake and
subsiquent fire of 1906. Some say he became mortal, while others say
the Quashmallim carried him to heaven. Other notable members over the
interveaning years include:
- The Fisher King - current leader of the Circle, the
Fisher King was made by Szu around 1890 from the remains a prominant
member of the Vigilance Commity. In his new life he took up Szu's
mantle after the former vanished, and has been a guide and mentor to
others ever since.
- Cassandra - Created in the Summer of Love out of the
remains of unintended fratricide, Cassandra proved to have the unusual
gift of prophecy (hence her name). It is believed she became mortal in
1986. Some belive she may now be the awakened mage Scarlet.
- Patch - Created by Cassandra in the lated '70s,
Patch is a rough-n-tumble urban cowboy still early on in his quest for
the pholosopher's Stone.
The Cult of Isis
One of several "Mystery Cults" hidden within the Osiris Society, the
Cult is the largest Throng in the Bay Area. Though they do accept the
occasional Promethian from other lineages, the majority of their
members are Nepri, tracing their creation back to Timmurlane. Many
outside their association would dearly love to know how they suppress
the Disquiet that should destroy their allience with the Society, but
few are willing to pay the price for that secret.
- Timmerlane - Made from the remains of a man lynched
for witchcraft in 1847, Timmerlane became a scourge on the community
that had killed him. A student of Szu durring the days of the Barbery
Coast, Tammerlane left his tulage to found his own Throng hidden
amongst the young Osiris Society when they established the Zanoni
Lodge, leading to the formation of mystery cult of Isis. Most of its'
current membership can trace their lineage through him.
Timmerlane himself disapeared in 1985, becoming a mortal while
following the Anathor of the Dragon.
