Past Preludes...

Saturday the 28th, January, 2006 - the New Moon

What happened?
Thomas Moon happened. For two and a half years he hadn't . Gehena had come, the Red Star blinking. He'd seen the signs. He'd seen that shadow that housed itself in Kier's flesh wrestle with a demonic spirit that tore down a mountain, and he'd seen the Shyden Kindred - Devlin, Rose, and Pandora - take their toys and just... leave. Where? No one knew. To do what? No answers.

Ignoring the pleas of his allies, and the threats of his enimies, he followed his Clan into exile. He embraced his heritage, and wandered the wild places.

And now he was back. He'd found something out in the woods. An old friend he'd thought dead for more than a decade. He found her staked and dreaming. So he woke her up, showered her off at a nearby motel, told her what she'd missed, and she in turn told him her dream of what ley around the corner.

Scarlett, whom the Sabbat called Nikita, who once toured the interstate in a van with "a certain perspective", had dreamed of being Eureka in the wolf-haunted town of Hillsburough. She had dreamed the werewolves who'd claimed they were kin had succeeded in their death-pact rite and she'd been reincarnated, and was living a life of a young girl in that town, as it was overcome by the megopolis of Heracles. She'd dreamed that destiny had been thwarted AGAIN and that she'd been turned before she could become a wolf, instead being a false one - a Gangrel like Moon . Why? she demanded of Moon, again and again we are thwarted in our destiny... Why can't we have our happy ending? When will this corrupt world end and the next begin?

Moon had no answers. They ordered out, made plans over pizza, took the delivery boy's truck and petty cash before dumping his body without ceremony in a shallow grave out in the rural wilds of  Lake County.

Times up, they decided. If answers were to be had, it was time to go back.
